Master of Painting, Printmaking, and Graphic Design
Mariusz Kaldowski, born in 1962 in Poland, is a distinguished painter, printmaker, and graphic designer. He graduated with an MA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1987. Since moving to the UK in 1996, Kaldowski has established a significant presence in the art world, continuously creating, exhibiting, and selling his work.
Career and Appointments
Since 2002, Kaldowski has served as Artist in Residence in Regent’s Park, and since 2009, he has been the resident artist for the National Trust in the South East region. Reflecting on his experiences, Kaldowski shares, “Both these appointments have been a joy to me, and both have broadened my horizons and my outlook beyond measure. This country has always shown a practical interest in the arts, and I know that well. But to see it exercised in the everyday world leaves me very appreciative of the openness I’ve encountered here.”
Classical Music and Art
Kaldowski has a unique connection with classical music, creating visual art that accompanies musical compositions. In 2000, he completed a 22-metre frieze entitled ‘Four Seasons, Four Stages of Life’, which visually interprets Vivaldi’s music.
This work has been featured in Polish National Television and is part of the Polish National Radio Orchestra’s performances.
Following this, he produced additional pieces inspired by Piazzolla’s Four Seasons and a triptych commemorating The Year of Chopin in 2010.
Recently, he completed a large painting inspired by Mussorgsky’s “Pictures from an Exhibition.”

Kaldowski has participated in over 200 exhibitions, including more than 100 solo shows, showcasing his diverse range of artistic work.
