Edward Waite
Innovative Urban Artist
Edward Waite, born 1989 in Sheffield, is a contemporary artist renowned for his vivid 3D cityscapes. A Fine Art graduate from The University of Lincoln, Edward’s artistic journey began with a transformative two-year global travel experience. From Brazil to Australia, he filled sketchbooks with notes, drawings, and ideas, capturing the essence of his travels.
Artistic Development
Upon returning from his travels, Edward began translating his sketches and notes into larger works, gradually developing his distinctive style. His bold, colour-filled technique—initially inspired by ketchup bottles in a New York diner—now brings iconic urban landmarks from cities such as Paris, New York, and London to life.
Notable Projects and Collaborations
Edward’s diverse portfolio includes exciting projects like designing a bespoke suit with his artwork printed on the lining in collaboration with a Saville Row tailor, and wrapping his art around a full-scale replica phone box. His innovative approach extends to technology with the creation of the Edward Waite App, allowing users to engage with his artwork by creating virtual cityscapes using his signature sauce bottles.
Community Engagement
Passionate about fostering new talent, Edward actively visits primary and secondary schools across the UK, offering students the opportunity to work alongside him and gain insight into his creative process.
Future Prospects
At just 30 years old, Edward Waite’s rapid rise to prominence suggests he may become one of the most celebrated artists of his generation. As noted by Arqadia in 4 Walls Magazine, his trajectory indicates a bright future ahead.
